I did my CBT last week to enable me to ride my newly acquired T5 Classic. Ive never been on a bike or scooter before but Ive always fancied a scooter. I did a morning on a test track and spent an afternoon on the road with another guy and an instructor and i couldn't believe just how pish-poor car drivers are. Ive been driving for over 15 years now and I have to say that in the past Ive been as guilty as others not sparing a thought for bikers and scooterists. I felt quite vulnerable to start with and my first thought was "wheres the damned seatbelt!" From now on I'm being good and affording all two wheeled vehicles the patience and room they deserve, i drove back from the test center like a nun! No more washer jets when I'm being followed! Unless I see that knob on the superbike that clipped my wing mirror doing 100mph plus on Saturday!

Congratulations on making the first tentative steps into the wonderful world of scootering. I think most people will agree that the added awareness required to ride on two wheels in this country actually helps to improve your awareness when driving a car too.
Most bikers will acknowledge you if you give them a nod, and when they don't it's usually because they're so shocked to get a nod from a scooterist that they don't have time to return the compliment. Don't worry about the power ranger, he's jealous because he knows that people stop to look at classic scooters but wouldn't give yet another same old same old sports bike a second glance. Also he knows that men who ride scooters have nothing to prove, while he undoubtedly has a miniscule p**i*.

I've long held the belief that it should be compulsory to ride 2 wheels, be it moped, scooter or motorbike, for a minimum 6 months before being allowed a provisional car licence. Riders are much more aware of what is going on around them and one would hope that 6 months would be long enough to install observation as a habit.

I even had people taking pictures of my T5 cutdown at the Ramsey sprint during TT week. I wonder if the same kind of thing would happen if I take the Harley to the IOW?
As I've got both how big is my willy supposed to be?

The miniscule p**i* analogy only relates to power rangers. Agreed Spence, but what about so called "super scooters"? There's got to be some p**i* issue with scooterists who own scooters above 300cc ;D

I too have full moderator status. When I feel the time is right I shall reinstate the word PEEEEENIS as it is an anatomically correct term.
