Hello Folks Me again, scoot running lovely but got a snag with the near side rear indicator light - have changed the bulb but whilst the front works the rear one is dead, it wont even register that indicator on via the speedo display.
Any ideas on where to start to look ?
Tks Danny

Hi mate, could just be a bad connection with the side panel... get it with mine on the odd occasion.take the panel off and refit it making sure the top latches on the fitting and the pin at the front goes in properly.failing that possibly a bad earth??

Gary Tks mate, thinking back I had taken the side panel off just prior to the indicator not wanting to work - hopefully something as easy as that will sort.

Take a look at the the rear pin on the panel, on the end is a white circle of plastic surrounding what should be a shiny copper coloured bit of metal. This is what makes contact with the electrickery inside the frame hole, inside which, if memory serves, is a spring loaded contact. Check both mating faces by rubbing any corrosion off with some emery cloth and of course that the contact spring is still working. The plastic prevents the current from earthing before it gets to your indicator. The other half of the circuit is the earth return so the panel should make good metal to metal contact with the frame.
Cheers

Gents Yep me indicators are both back working along with the indicator on the speedo dial so it was me being a plonker and not putting the side panel back on properly - bit fiddly putting them on after taking off or are lammie ones just easier? well they are easier to fly off when you going along the road anyway LOL
Tks more questions later when I break something else!
