Hi guys i was thinking of fitting a chrome simonini exhaust to my standard px200disk engine, has anybody fitted one of these to a standard engine before and would the carb need re jetting?.What if any would be the effect on acceleration fuel consumption and top end speed.

I've done exactly that to mine and to be honest, don't raise your expectations too high. It looks good (IMO), sounds great, but it doesn't really get you there any quicker. There is an improvement, mainly midrange, and maybe a slight improvement to top end, but nothing to get excited about. As for upjetting, I put in the jet given to me by my local dealer when I bought the pipe, which has been fine, but I can't remember the size. There's a few on here who will know though. Regarding fuel consumption, not really noticed any difference, but then I just fill it up when it's empty, It still does more than my car. This has been linked before in other threads, but you might want to have a look. vintagescooters.free.fr/tuning/px200_exhaust/px200_exhaust.htm

I'm on my second one on my PX200, having knocked the muffler off the first one on a not very dropped kerb.
I've had no trouble at all and really like them. I get about 70-80 miles out of a tank. Sorry, don't know about the jet size because the scooter already had a Simonini on it when I bought it and I didn't think to ask.

PX 200 engine runs on the rich side with standard carb set up. You could almost stay with the standard 116 maun jet. For peace of mind put a 118 on.

Sito over a sh*tonini every time! The only problem with a Sito is they don't last. Still the best of the 2 though.

Both have their problems, end cans fall off the Simos, baffles break looks on the Sito's.. neither are of top quality

The main bolt securing Lu's Sito Plus to the underside of the frame came loose once and dropped back until it rubbed a huge gouge in her back tyre. If we'd gone any more than a couple of miles she would've had a blow-out. They all have their good and bad points but, as I always say, opinions are like a**es - everyone's got one.
