Been doing a bit of tidying and some minor rust repairs, worst sections seem to be on the seams where the rear pressing of the frame meets the centre of the floor, kinda straight down from the front of the seat.. a few of the PX/T5's I looked at seemed to be going in the same place. I've killed the rust on the outside, primed and re-sprayed, just a bit bothered that the rust is actually coming from inside the frame rather than running up the seam from the floor.. Any thoughts on how to stop this for good , maybe take the tank out and try to get to the back of the section with waxoil or the like, anyone treated the inside of a frame in this way?

Hi bryno
I've got one of those Waxoyl sprayers with a big pump on top of a pressurised can, back in the day you used to be able to get a probe to put on instead of the normal gun. This probe was just a plastic tube with lots of little holes in it along its length, designed for treating chassis members on cars - strikes me that would be ideal for treating the inside of a scooter frame. I certainly plan to do something like this with mine (once it's been straightened...).
Might be worth a look in your friendly neighbourhood Halfrauds?
Cheers
Jaz

Oh yeh, I'd forgotten about those ;D, I've still got a big can in the garage, probably got the wand thingy somewhere, must have been there for 20 years LOL... as I recall they were not brilliant and got blocked easy, but I guess I could go over to my neighbours and spray some waxoil into the frame through his air compressor.. good thinking Jaz

I found that too, but standing the can in a bucket of very hot water helped. Do make sure the stuff is nice and warm even if you're using a compressor. Good luck!

Had the tank out at the weekend, but there is a plate at the bottom which means you can't get right down to the inner floor.. grrr, need to get it on its side and spray waxoil through a hole in the underside.. it's gonna get messy!
