Hi Robbie welcome to the forum. I'm from Medway as well, what colour is your px and I'll keep an eye out for you. Don't belong to a club myself but as well as the the club robjacks mentioned (who if legend is to be believed have quite an initiation ceremony) there is also the Medways Aces. I think Alan who owns Medway Scooters (North Street Strood) and is really helpful has something to do with them.

Hi dunworking I actually live in Walderslade, is it you on the T5 I keep seeing? But I work up the top of Star Hill. Guys at Medway Scooters are top blokes and always advise you but don't really deal with Vespa's. Got mine booked in at Celery Scooter Innovations in Sandling this week to sort out my indicators. Motorists gettting the hump with me using handsignals lol.

What's the initiation ceremony? Sounds fascinating. Or is it top secret like all that Ivy League Skull and Bones nonsense

Not me on the T5 I'm on an old Sprint (red) . I live in High Halstow but do get around on the old girl a fair bit, although I am a fair weather rider (don't mind cold but don't like the rain).
Don't know a huge amount about the initiation and its probably watered down a bit now. But it does depend on how much of a shine they take to you ( all of the members have to accept you as a member otherwise you dont get in) and is based on there version of the old fashioned Hells Angels ceremonies - not for me ;D

Not for me either reading their website I think i'd be everything they despise, Newbie, PX, L-plates etc. surprising how many scoots around Medway, loads of Lammies. Desperate for a Soul night in the area, waiting for the next Kent soul club do.

Fair enough Robbie, if you don't think you would be made welcome, then I wouldn't bother. I only linked them because you asked for clubs in your area and I saw them in the clubs to join bit in Scootering magazine. Clubs aren't really my thing, I'm a big fanny when it comes to initiation ceremonies, but I suppose I'm lucky to have a couple of good mates who have got scooters to ride with.

They obviously do something right though as they have been running for a long time, its just that they have their own way of doing things and take a while to accept you - sounds like my wife ;D PX would be alright with them though (providing it was`in a high state of tune)
I'm the same as robjack in that I'm not really into clubs (probably an age thing) although I do like a large group ride-out occasionally.

It's not so much a need to join a club as to talk about scoot related things. The wife and kids think I'm a silly old man on a MOPED!!!! Thank God for this sight LOL. By the way if I kill the wife for calling the scoot a moped, is it justifiable homicide???

you dont need to be in a club. just a few like minded people to meet up with for rideouts and rallies.

I am in a club and always have been, like one big family but sometimes some people who join can just kill it!! Sometimes it helps to be selective maybe an intiation ceremony is the way to go!!!!!
