HI, I don't know anything about Scooters, so I figured someone on here might be in the know. My mother has got an old Vespa (88cc) , registered 1973. It's been in the garage for 20 years and needs doing up, repairing or selling. Any idea how much it would cost to bring it back to life. It's probably not got a lot wrong with it, body work appears fairly sound. Where's the best place to take it in the York, North Yorkshire vicinity!

Hi Dodger, welcome to the forum. The scooter you've found is absolutely worthless, and I'd be doing you a favour if I took it off your hands for £50. ;D
Seriously though, we all dream of finding a little gem in an old garage or shed somewhere, but to answer your question on how much it'll cost to restore is a bit like saying how long a bit of string is. It really depends on how much work needs doing. Maybe you could post some photos of it on here so we can have a look.
Andy's from West Yorkshire, but he might be able to recommend a reliable restorer for you.

Thanks Spence, It's yours if I don't get a better offer.... It cost about 100 quid in '73, not bad if it's only halved in value...
I'll get hold of a camera and post a snap or two.

hi dodger-if your wanting a pristine resto job(and can afford it!) i would say chislespeed in barwick-in-elmete,near leeds,if on the other hand your wanting a resonable job,at resonable cost,i would be willing to do it,i would do the spannering, and a mate would strip it back and paint it
