Hello there
I am a T5 owner from the Brum area.
My T5 has lots of health problems at the moment.
Is there a doctor in the house???

None today, thanks. But she was poorly yesterday. Have just had barrel and piston replaced along with full gaskets, bearings, seals (arf, arf) and a rear hub. The lot. She seems to be running sweet as a nut this morning, but i am wondering how much breaking in she needs what with the new bits. My mechanic reckons about 100miles. Other scooty boys reckon up to 1000...?? I just want to open her up and she what shes made of. The teenagers are over taking me on their twist n gos, its quite embarassing. Please someone tell me i dont need to bed it in...!!!

Welcome to the forum ;D I've just run in my Malossi kit and instructions for that were 3 - 500 miles to run in, not above 45MPH, (boy was that tough!) so I'd go for that mate.. Then look forward to ripping up them twist & go's

I'm going to go with my mechanic and presume shes run in after 100 miles..!!! ;D
After all, hes the one whos set my mix way, way too high. (Hmmmm thought i could smell petrol.)
But i shall try to keep below 45 till i feel happy enough. Just keeping an eye on that plug, very oily at the mo, but thats cause ive put a litttle 2 stroke in the tank just for some extra bedding in lube, but shes browner than an oily brown thing.
Cheer

Well hey, if it smokes and doesn't run as quick as it used to, you'll know to run it in for longer on your next re-build ;D Sure it will be fine, my plug was soooo black during running in, guess it just gets choked up when you are taking it easy on the throttle.. and the extra oil will blacken it quicker.
