Well, just to give you an update and will post some pics soon as well.
Got the HP4 flywheel and I'm keeping it at one side for when the engine is ready:)
I stripped the front disc setup I got and the hub is getting chromed this saturday and I'm also getting the suspension for it. Thinking of Sebac at the moment.
Pics will follow soon:)

Hi people, been away for a few days due to work But I'm back now and starting this thread as the project will kick off from 1st of September I've decided to start work on the PX125 and this is where I'm up to now I've managed to source a front fork with full disc brake and have currently took it apart to clean and paint. Front hub is getting chromed soon and I'm after a headset bottom. A PX200 engine is already fully rebuilt and I'm picking that up in the end of the month ;D So keep an eye on this thread as things will start happening soon

Hello guys/gals managed to get myself a front fork with complete disc brake ;D BUT i still need the bottom of the handlebar. I've been told that the pre-disc handlebar cannot be modified. So any1 knows of a 2nd hand one? If not what you reckon...should i go for the standard one or for the dropped? Cheers Moses

hi mate,
welcome on the forum. Do you have any play on the lever or is everything nice and tidy and then it jumps? might be the cruciform?

It can be done mate. Best thing to do is ring DVLA up and ask them of what they would need.
If its worth it? Depends in what state the vespa is in and how much you are getting it for:)

No nothing abrasive. Very thin sandpaper and petrol to remove the carbon.

Cheers mate,
well at the moment I got all the things needed apart from the 4 nuts:) they have a very fine thread and the ones I got are damaged so waiting for new ones from solely scooters as the ones from B&Q won't do:(
Patience.....patience

Hi all,
a bit of advise please:)
I had an oil leak from the cylinder head. So I decided to take it off and clean and in the same time clean the piston as well.
Putting it back on, now that is clear and not black, I can see that on the connection on meta to metal from the cylinder head to the cylinder there are bubbles coming out once the engine starts running. In other words there isn't a perfect match.
I know that there is a type of glue that mechanics use when putting metal to metal to avoid those tiny spaces left between the cylinder and the head.
ANY IDEA WHAT IS IT CALLED AND WHERE I CAN FIND IT? ;D
Thanks

Hahaha no i clocked with my mates car so it should be pretty accurate. I've been thinking of going down that road but I bet it will then need more new things. I might just swap the engine for a 200cc one with a malossi 210:) a nice cranckshaft a big carb and an HP4 flywheel. Now that I woke up from the dream I'll see where I can get the money to do all these:)

Allright Dave, on a closer inspection of my log book I can see that mine is named as Douglas as well. Nothing to worry about mate:) I think the Brits got a bit confused:) I have a PX125EFL 1984 model and after roughly 10years of vespa experience I can tell u is just the brits being different:) were abouts are you based as I just finished restoring mine and if you need any help feel free to get intouch:) regarding pics etc let me know if you need specifics and i'll take pics of mine. good luck with the project moses

they just use the name DOUGLAS mate.....it has nothing to do with the scooter. They are all the same....douglas or not.
about the above ebay link i only have 1 question.......if it was a 2002 scooter wouldn't it come with a disc brake? i cannot see one on this?

ladies please lets not fight:) the guy here needs an idea of what to buy, lets be constructive lol mate have a look at www.scootertrader.com and on ebay do a search for "vespa px" then choose only to show the scooters. if you have the cash go for a px200.....u will never regret it and u will never ever sell the scooter:) if its one with a Disc Brake at front then you got a winner

cheers for the reply:)
well i changed the exhaust to a polini cause I like the sound better. I tuned the carb a bit and it seems to be going better now.
I'm from Corfu btw. So if any of you are going on hols there I'll give you all the tips of where to go:)
I think, I'm just going to swap the engine with a 200 that i have back home sitting in the garage. That should solve ALL problems:)

Hi guys,
been reading the forum for a couple of months. Great job!!!
I got a PX125EFL which I finished restoring the chassis and its now on the road. My problem is that it wont do more than 45miles top speed. I come from Greece and my px125 disc used to do about 60mph.
Are they restricted in the UK? Or is my Simonini exhaust jammed?
In other words, px125efl 1984 model is it ok doing 45mph max?
Thanks

Hi mate
welcome to the site:) You can use the Haynes Manual for the PX, things are similar and as far as i remember it covers the cosa as well.
where abouts are you based?

yeap thats it mate, 2 stroke oil:)
a fully synthetic would be too much for my PX125 with no mods, or in other words too good. but you know of any place in M'cr city center?
