I'm afraid mate the slide is a bit bent and the choke mechanism isn't working well as well. Tried the fix you mentioned but it didn't work.
Plus if I wanted the garage to try and sort it out, I would have to pay about the same in labour so just thought I'll swap it for a new one.

My fears I think will come through:(
Today the bike wouldn't start and had to take it on the recovery van:'( What a shame!!
Have decided I'll change the whole carb and lets hope that will solve the problems.
Has any1 got any experience of that shop in Rochdale?

Well the time has come for the 2nd MOT since rebuild. Hopefully this time the garage will sort out the carb and choke issues so I can start riding the bloody thing!! God knows what they'll charge me this time It probably needs a new carb and the choke cable rerunning

Actually it was to do with sorting out the PX:) It's only the choke that's giving me trouble:)
But I'll still buy you a (few) beer(s) afterwards:) Plus you get a contact for good holidays in greece;)

Update:
Well I took the choke off the carb and gave it a bath in WD40 and then some grease. It works a bit better but i will change the cable at some point soon as well.
Any ideas why it won't hold an idle? Rides fine now, choke is closed so its not running rich, went for a 10min ride to warm it up but it still won't hold an idle.....the mixture screw at the back of the carb box is at the same place where it has been...didn't touch it. The idle screw I have it almost completely off and it still won't hold an idle. If I screw it in it just dies then moment u close the throttle.

Hehe was getting worried Spence:) You didn't reply to my post within a few hours and bad thoughts crossed my mind.
Thanks for the replies nevertheless....I am looking for a how-to guide for the choke lever really and the fitment of the cable to the choke levers end. I'm ok with the carbs side:)

Cheers mate, I'm ok to take the tank out etc etc.
Only bit that I believe I'm not doing right is with the choke cable and the way it fits to the choke arm.
There is a tube that the cable goes into (u know underneath the petrol lever) and this is where I think things are going wrong....I'll give it a try though.
Weather is crap here today rain, wind and the sunny spell now and then so not a good day:(

Indeed, I believe the wire is not correctly installed into the choke arm!
I was looking more towards a HOW-TO guide really as the first attempt didn't work out it seems:)

Hey guys, I've got a serious little issue with my px The air won't close all the way hence its a bummer to start and when driving won't hold an idle! The problem is with the air wire that goes to the round thing we pull out when we want to use it. Any1 knows a way to change it? Cause the wire is really brand new but the installation is not correct. About 6 months ago when I took it to the mechanic to change the engine to the 200cc he said it works fine now (which it didn't) and because I know its a bit of a job to sort it out he just sent me away. I want to ride this scooter but with so many little things I'm about to give up and sell it

Hi Smallframe, had the HP4 on the 125 and with that spark plug. I found that for day to day use its not worth having the HP4 as it made the ride pretty difficult in low speeds. Great fun when accelerating but cooling was another issue as well. I have decided that I will not put it on the 200cc engine unless I start racing:) When going on long rides it would have made life pretty difficult.....plus this is a fully rebuilded engine so don't want to seize it....yet:)

I know I've been gone for quiet sometime but work has kept me busy:(
The project is still going strong I must say. Got my 200cc engine last week and its going on the scooter on the 2nd of November...one day after payday:D
Front disc is also ready with the hub chromed. Got the SIP Quick Action Throttle as well so will be putting this all together and on the scooter this week;) Ready for the engine.
Then saving time for some engine tunning and bodywork:) Will post some pics when all is done:)
