Jim, I have a problem with drops, not with the look but riding in slow traffic I had ace bars on my CB250 and it made it unrideable through Brighton town centre, well that and someone had put amal carbs on it They made my wrists ache so bad

Good luck with that mushroom, are you replacing it with another?? No mate, got another old one partly stripped in the shed ( '60 VNB1T ) Missus bought me an '88 Yamaha FZX750 for my 50th so I've been out roaring around on that (after fixing it, of course) Got it back in September but a catalogue of disasters with it meant I've only just got it running properly in the last month It's had an alternator, plugs, coils, carbs ultrasonically cleaned twice, new handlebars, indicators, front tyre, thermostat, rad flushed twice, new CDI. It's broken down a mile from home twice and I've had to push the bloody thing It's had an intermittent misfire for months which I've only just worked out to be one of the plug caps. NOS ones are nearly £50 if you can find them I've had more success with Vespas, my old P200Es never let me down Last Friday the missus finished early so we met down the seafront for chips and rode home together Wind noise is abysmal on her GoPro (that's me in the red shirt)

Jim, I've still got another one. It's a 1960 VNB1T, currently in bits in my shed. Italian tax disc says 1971 on it Just need a special tool to take the rear hub bearing out but it's at the bottom of my to-do list according to the misssus I'm currently blasting about on my FZX750 as I've ironed out all it's problems. Can't beat the adrenaline rush as you open the throttle

Well they didn't want it and got 3 bids on ebay. Winner lives in Austria (just my luck) Haven't heard anything since the end of the auction, I'll give him 24 hours then offer it to the next guy down

H that's sad but I know what you mean. First wife's funeral I did all the talking graveside, no church service. Then played her favourite song, Little Green by Joni Mitchell (still can't listen to it now and that's 20 years ago) My dad owed a lot of people a lot of money and he'd screwed over all his mates time and time again, hence no-one to see him off When me and my mum went through all his loans (that he made my mum countersign) and £20k worth of capital gains tax, her only option was to sell their house and rent. She went to her grave debt free 3 years later but for those 3 years she had no money worries for the first time in her life

If it's anything like my dad's funeral they be no songs at all. At my dad's it was me, my mum and the bailiff sitting in the pews. I'll have p*shed off all my family by the time I pop my clogs so they can play and say what they want

Since getting the internet in '98 I stopped buying CDs, Napster, limewire and emule were all good sources for mp3s back in the early days before iTunes Probably the last CD I bought was Bjork - Post I've still got all my old vinyl ( 200 12" singles , 300 7" singles and about 500 LPs )although the stereo is a bit loud for everyone except me Currently have a NAD 3130 amp Bang & Olufsen Beogram 1202 ( from freecycle about 10 years ago) Kenwood CD player (just tried it and doesn't read discs anymore) KEF Concord IV floorstanding speakers Amp is hooked up to my old Xbox media centre so I stream music from my PC Some of my old vinyl 12" Neon Lights in luminous vinyl 12" singles 10" Killing Joke Madness Nutty Boys comics that came with the first editions of Los Palmas 7 12" edition

I like the look of the Clifton, cheers for the headsup The FZX has been a rollercoaster for me, things keep breaking or things I'd not noticed have worn out. Alternator went first night out on it and I pushed it over a mile home, radiator gunked up with brown sludge (leading to me shearing a bolt in the thermostat housing ) It's heavier than anything I've ridden before, but it's got a nice low centre of gravity and it sounds awesome with a 4 into 1 3" exhaust

Today, (well last night) I have been pushing a bloody heavy bike a mile in the dark because the poxy alternator and battery don't work. Set off to get petrol OK then pop fart, turn the lights off and it smooths out. Get petrol then click click dead Bumpstart it and run with sidelights on until it starts missing again and coast to a stop. Got the battery tested at local bike place and it's knackered and not holding a charge Buy new motobatt one, £56! Get home and start up everything ok. Get multimeter out and it's barely making 12.9 volts at 5000 rpm ( It's supposed to be between 13 and 15) Check the alternator over and the stator has gone. Luckily the FZX group on facebook seems to have spares I was kicking the thing last night and wishing I had my Vespa Never broken down on one yet
