It's to do with aluminium losing heat faster than the steal in the flywheel (for ya magnets old boy!) It's not any hotter it's just cooling down at a slower rate. No don't change plug, hot weather enrichens your fuel and that can lead to plug fouling. Big time. In the hot weather you can open that little hole up on your carb box that's quite an exciting thing to do on a super hot day .

Starter motor on the back of fly wheel. Big cylindrical lump. Sometimes they are removed but the Starter button left in situ.

Unless casings sits good without bolts something isn't right if you have to pull it together with bolts be careful be very careful you can cause damage . They will fall open but if they don't shut until bolted oh my be careful . could you push them together easily with your hands it's fiddly but once lined up there should be very little resistance. Do you wiggle the kick start enough? Is your crank pulled all the way over? Go easy

OK I thinki got it. Have you tried any other main jet sizes, I think you are one or two sizes too big. Have you tried other sizes? If not you must buy a 98 and 100 and try those. BUT THEY MUST BE THE SAME MAKE AS YOU ARE CURRENTLY USING. SO THE SIZING IS CONSISTENT. try that big fella. I don't like recommending stuff so quickly but it seems from what you said that should be your next port of call. My guess and it is a guess at this point is that a 100 mj may solve this issue. Good luck.

When you say mis fire, can you get through that by A. Opening the throttle all the way Or B. Backing off the throttle until you find a sort of sweetspot . It sounds like jetting but I'd need more info. It's all a bit off a stab in the dark. Have you adjusted your jets? A mid range splutter could well be atomizer. But don't rush into things. Is it a new ht lead? Even a poor connection somewhere can't really be ruled out. It'll be something you've done probably. Don't take that the wrong way. We all introduce faults sometimes and a rebuild isn't a proper rebuild unless you do it at least twice. There will be a tell tale sign you jus t need to find it. Quick way to check jetting is to hold the throttle open revving away on the stand and pullout choke the engine should start to splutter then gently stall. Repeat with throttle in different positions if you don't stall your too lean . If your to rich you will increase your problem before you stall and you just might think- that's what's happening to me! But to be accurate I'd need more info.

If its never came off before it will need some welly, that's normal it'll be threadlocked. Tighten the bolts up very tight into each other before using the bottom one to undo. Good luck. Why they didn't let the barrel side out is beyond me and obviously beyond vespa too.

You fiddled with you mix screew? you haven't leaned out you tick over too much have you? If the revs drop and your too lean it could easily stall.

Oh so you may have an air leak. Making you lean. A lean engine will stall more especially when asked to give power at low revs or sometimes stalls just by engaging the clutch. So carb is a good guess could be restricted petrol or increased air intake. You got dribble from under the carb by the mix screew? Could be head bolts are loose. What was the last thing you tinkered with?

Hello Richard I need more info. That's quite vague. Too much so even for a guess I think. Any smoke? Is the engine under load when cutting out? Is it creeping? Will it pull off in second?-there's one. Funny noise? How old are your clutch plates in dog years and mileage? Info Information It'd probably help. X

That's not advice it's just what I think. You have got a good exhaust put that on , you'll love its a great set up with drilled filter. No reason why then over time you can tune up what you got and learn a bit if you want, it's quite interesting. But you do what you want. Seriously get the sip r2 on then a non limited cdi set up. Super. You're mucking about. You'll never get this time back, oh my.
