Hi Guys,
I am new to this forum and have a few questions re my current restoration. Hopefully someone can help with some info, photos or whatever.
I have just started restoration on a 1962 Douglas Vespa Sportique 150 which is badly corroded everywhere. I have thousands of questions keeping me awake at night so perhaps the first one should be , 'Is this the best forum for technical help?', or if not please advise accordingly.
I am currently welding up the central section prior to fitting new floorboards/Legshields and have the following immediate questions
1) I am not clear on the detail of the back section of this central section, e.g., number/size/position of holes for cable exit. Please advise
2) I have a tube coming from the brake pedal area and presume this takes the rear brake inner cable. Does the outer cable terminate on this back section, and, if so, how? Is the tube supported by the back plate (wheel arch extension down to the floorboards) at it rear end and if so how?
3) There is a tube (30mmDia?) running down through the chassis central section to guide cable runs. Is this supported at its rear end close to the back plate (by the back plate)? In the original plate there is a central hole at the bottom roughly 30mm dia. The tube apprears to aim for that. Does the tube run through the plate and the cables exit at that point?
Thanks for any info on these questions.
Jon
