Are there any good options for security when away from home?
I use litelok X1 angle grinder resistant D lock through a wheel when I take my bikes to work, but there's no where to fit it on the vespa. With some persuasion it'll fit around the front suspension but that wouldn't stop them rolling it away.

I use old style Yale padlock through the front disk with a heavy chain to go round a post or something similar π and a reminder to the headset π best foot forward soulboy74

I've got drum brakes. There is a 10mm hole/notch in the SIP tubeless rim, I started working on soomething to combine it and the litelok but the design didn't work, I might try to rework it.
A wheel clamp might be an option.
A few months ago some thieving chavs came to the business park with an angle grinder and spring cosh, they cut the 12mm chain off someones Honda in under 20s, a security guy with a big alsatian chased them off.
If I relied on insurance round here I suspect I'd spend more time shopping for a replacement than I would riding. They've tried to get into the garage twice in the last year.

I've ordered some bits to make up a disk lock style thing for from brakes. If it works I'll post the details.

I've got a fair bit of security on both a rented council garage and a shed/workshop at home. I'm just lacking portable security for the vespa.
Plan A was to make up a kit to use a D lock on the front wheel, it didn't work out but I might come back to it.
Plan B is to make two disk lock equivalent devices for the drum brakes. It won't replace a big chain but it's another layer of security. Basically clevis pins with the end machined to lock into padlocks and sleeves over them to make them too large a diameter for bolt cutters, the end of the sleeves will also be stepped to fit the rim/drum.

Padlock through the front disc, with reminder to the headset, heavy chain around front suspension to a fixed object, steering lock engaged.
