Start at the top i woukd suspect it is steering bearings failed or the assebly loose. Check that headset/fork/steering bearings are tight. Its a two nut system and ideally you need c spanners but you can do it with a large flat bladed driver. You will need to take headset top off and release the headset bottom from the forks. Lift the headset up a bit to allow access under. Depending on age you might just want to put new need roller in as you are down that far. If all good go to hub/back plate and inspect. Tbe only other item is the lower steering bearings, which is forks out Hopefully top steering issue

As growell said, also check fork link, brake shoes, front hub bearing and that hub is still round and not oval. Could be a number of small issues manifesting into one, but hard to be exact without riding it, or seeing

Thanks for your help with this yes I will have to start to investigate this matter as the bearing feel tight no wobble l will start with the hub now because there's a bit of play about 5/8 mm forward after the brake is on fully and feels like it might be oval ish!! Would badly fitted shoe up front cause this problem ?? Okay thanks again and best foot forward soulboy74 🏴
