Hello everyone,
I have just joined the forum, which I suspect might become a place I spend a lot of time in the future!
And now, a brief back story..! I bought a second-hand 2003 Vespa ET4 50 back in 2010 when I was living in London. The bike had never left the firm I worked for and when I left I sold it to a colleague. This colleague got back in touch with me in about 2018 to tell me that after years of neglect at his hands, "Mr Scoot" had failed his MOT and was destined for the scrap heap, unless I wanted him. Being a sentimental wally, I had the old steed delivered to my parent's house as I was living abroad and there he stayed until last year...
I retrieved him from their garage, put some fresh fuel in, charged the battery and after a bit of encouragement managed to get him running and a joyous half an hour was spent whizzing around their garden (until they told their 38 year old son to stop the racket and come inside). He has subsequently moved to the house my wife and I have just bought in Gargrave, North Yorkshire, alas no matter what I do he shows no signs of life.
On the Et4 50: he is very shabby cosmetically and he failed the MOT for corrosion to the bottom plate, which I believe is the chassis essentially. I don't want to fully restore him or anything like that, but is there any way I can get him to someone who can give it a fair shot of repair and whatever mechanical work required to make it safe and roadworthy? I'm willing to transport it as required, I just can't find anyone who would be remotely interested in this highly unfashionable work!
Cheers to anyone who reads this and any advice at all is most welcome.
All the best,
Alex

Hi there, a bit of filler and a black halfords rattle can spray will solve the problem!
