I have a 1982 P150X. It is Italian and has 15,000 kms on it from new. I've owned it for 12 years, and I've taken it around the world with me as I've moved. I am now back in the UK to stay and I want to get it running again. It was most recently on the road 2 years ago - usually under a cover in the shed since.
Before I last MOT'd it in 2021, it had a slight fuel leak - so I got a carburetor gasket set, changed them - all okay. The scooter sailed through the MOT with just a headlight angle adjustment needed. The only miles I have put on it since then were riding home from the test centre, then occasionally up and down the farm track leading to my old house just to give it a run. When I did this most recently (a year ago), after a day or two I passed the scooter and there was evidence of a major fuel leak - estimate about a half pint worth.
Just looking for suggestions before I go pulling the thing apart, and hopefully some common / easily fixed problems others have experienced in similar situations.

Try and establish where the leak is coming from visually. (stick some cardboard under)
Rear of carb Fuel line Carb Tank/tap (check where rear brake and clutch cable come out of frame on underside) Exhaust, could have fuel in it.
Carb box and filter off first this will give visual on the carb and incoming fuel line. Turn tap on and off to see if anything untoward. Take float bowl off carb and check opetation. I would recommend changing the Float needle anyway. Next is the tank out to check it and the tap.

Okay, Thank You GP - I'll have a proper look at it tonight and source the specific point of the leak.
