I have a PX200 that has been off the road for 15 years. I’ve cleaned the carb and fuel tank and installed a new fast flow fuel tap. To start with I’m relying upon pre mixing my oil and fuel to restart in case there are any issues with the auto lube. I’ve put close to 2+litres of fuel in put I’m not getting any fuel flow in either reserve or on positions. I’m completely new to classic vespas and finding it all a bit of a learning curve. Once you’ve figured something out and done it a couple of times it seems easy its just going through this perplexing learning curve. Question is do I have enough fuel in tank to ensure flow or should i be adding more or looking at something else as my problem?

Hello there put another litre of juice in .then take petrol pipe of at carb end and blow down the petrol filler pipe to force juice through.its gravety fed. You can also take petrol pipe off at carb end and point it at the floor should come through then push pipe back on carb and tighten clip. Sounds like air lock or tap not letting juice through cheers alan.

Tried this and still nothing. Pretty sure the fuel line is not kinked but will remove tank again. Anyone know how much fuel needs to be put in an empty tank before reserve or on will flow? As I’m putting in premix I dont want to waste even more fuel as it will get drained again before I try the autolube.

A small amount of fuel will start the bike if all is well, its gravity geed and the bottom of tank is higher than float bowl. Are you sure its the tap/fuel stopping it firing up Are you using a tap with reserve or just on off. Turn fuel off and undo banjo. Turn fuel on Fuel should flow from tank through pipe and out the banjo - is fuel flowing?
If it is bolt it back up.
Put some petrol into the cylinder and kick it over
If not, then take tank out and remove tap. Check tap, try blowing through it - turn the tap closed nothing will blow through, turn to on and blow to see if ways are clear- if nit clear strip it to check the internal rubber washer clean filter.
Strip the carb, the float maybe gummed up.
Have you got spark??
