I had a pm40 exhaust ceramic coated, the finish was great and kept the rust away, but wasn't cheap, so unless you have an expensive exhaust this isn't really an option. The next thing is bbq paint, I was spraying my bgm big box with this every year and it helps , but its not permanent

Hi, I use Hammerite Black Barbecue Paint (Aerosol). You can buy it for under £15.

Once the original coating has gone which isnt long, the next coat needs the surface properly prepared, which means back to bare metal and no contaminates. All the VHT paints dont like old coatings.
I like PJ1 VHT exhaust paint

I found that a good rub down with wire wool first then a good spray all over with WD-40 rust protection and leave over night and then your first coat of hammer wright high temperature paint leaves overnight and then a second coat !! And bobs your uncle and a new exhaust !! But Hay mate while you at it why not de coke as well with soda !! And you will have a good as new system !! Best foot forward soulboy74 🏴👍
