Slap on a load of grease. Not pretty but works. Though often Your best off not mucking about and rather every couple of years give the underside a fresh coat of paint(after a good tidy up under there). That's what I think.

I clean the underneath of and give a light rub down, then spray with zinc rich spray (it's used after cutting or welding galvanized surfaces) then spray stone chip , a couple of coats and that's usually good for a couple of years, I also waxoil inside the frame

Yep that's proper. Aides doing the proper job there ,spending both the time and money. Hats off ! Good show! I get the impression that any scooter you have is not only immaculate but built like a tank! I'm a little bit jel.

Yep that’s the best way, it’s probably what I’ll do to mine. Or you could clean it down and hammerite it. Guy used to do it to his car every year, it’s still going strong now with no welding work done. 🤠

Thanks guys , The under side is ok ( no rust ) , want to keep it that way. I have just got a can of Jenolite anti stone chip , so when it warms up that's the way I will go.

Thanks, I do look after my scooters, and spend a small fortune on them, only buy the best parts, even if it means having to save , wish I could add pictures, but I'm crap with technology

Guy used to do it to his car every year, it’s still going strong now with no welding work done. 🤠 This is the way. My fiesta has Hammerite on the subframe, rear beam, sills, chassis rails, wheel arches and just about anywhere else they’re prone to rust. Not a speck of tin worm on it. I plan on doing the underside and non visible areas of the Vespa with it this summer. It needs the bodywork looking at anyway. But should keep it in business for many years to come.
