Just wondering if everyone has to go through the CBT training? Even if you have had your prov license way back in the 80ts l remember doing a type of course way back then around cones and highway code does that count? as a CBT l was told that I keep my initialment s and need not do it again

CBT lasts for two years, then you need to take it again, until you pass your test. Best way is to take your CBT, then take your test within the two years. Will save you money on your insurance too.

Thanks for letting us know so all long time rider's who have been riding on L plate needs now to go through the CBT training before you can carry on riding is that the LAW ?? I have been riding since 83 and was told that I keep my initialment and the CBT training was for all newer rider's after 2013 ?? Please advise ?? Best regards soulboy74

Yes cbt every 2 years until you pass your test , have a look on gov.org website or ring your lock motorcycle training center

That's the LAW. Check this hasn't changed on gov.co.uk. Unless you ride a 50cc on grandfather rights, i.e. passed car test before something like 1999. You don't need L's and can carry a pillion.
