Hi I’m new to the forum I have got myself a px 200, totally original in good nick too, I’m looking forward to giving it a strip down and a detailed clean, I’ve had a couple of Vespas over the years and love the look. My issue is it’s reg as a 125 as many are and I want to get it back to original, as it came with its original engine refitted. I sent the logbook off with a covering letter stating that it is the bikes original engine etc, and received it back as it was no changes and no explanation. I have seen various posts online regarding receipt for the new engine etc, tried ringing dvla (guess what ) no answer can’t even get through. Any help off anyone who has successfully managed to navigate the bulls@&t red tape I would be grateful. Sorry in advance if this is a question asked many times, I’ve had a quick shifty at the posts and can’t see anything ?? Cheers Dazzle

No expert on the matter but I think you need to get an engineers report to show dvla?

Hello and welcome. Yes I think you will need an "Engineers" report confirming the correct cc of your vespa. Your local scooter dealer may be able to help or even a motorbike garage. You will need to gather some evidence eg frame number and engine number etc. Worse case you might have to whip the head off to measure the piston. Good luck finding a garage that will be open before mid-Feb............

Most mot testers will do an engineers report, but they will cost about £100 , well that's what my local bike shop charge 😔
