Has anybody had any success with using rubber tubing instead of the proper rubber sleeve for the side panel hooks as they seem to wear through pretty quick and a length of tube will make quite a few for a lot less brass.

Bit of washer tubing should do the job. Will take a little time getting it over the end, just gently warm it until it goes. Can't remember what diameter you need, as I never bothered replacing them.

Go to a Motorbike dealer and get a length of rubber fuel line.

It comes in different inside diameters, any idea which would be the best fit?

Yep, screen washer tube. Measure it with a set of "veryneers" and get a size with a fairly snug fit.

Hello. I had a measure up of the rubber on my panel when it was off earlier. It's 10mm OD and 6mm ID.
