Having a few issues with the ignition key in the headset of the wee Px125e- when I turn the key the whole thing moves underneath the headset cover. Tried everything to get it to stay firm but reckon it’s knackered ! New one ordered but is there a knack to getting it to sit tight and not move ?? Thanks a million guys !

Isn't there supposed to be a grub screw holding it on??

Not sure, if there is then it’s missing ! It’s quite a simple affair - a plastic screw cap just above speedo secured onto a plastic block below headset. I’m hoping the new one will be fairly obvious as to how it should be fitted 😂😂

inside the lock has a flat that sits up against a shoulder in the top ,that locates it .on the outsides a big flat washer an some rubber seals ,if these are missing or old n thin lock drops down an can spin .although with new locks in the past ive had to leave out the seal that goes under nut as it was too thick . Have a look here and see if it's any help, the picture with the black switch fitted, shows the flat side of the switch seated property against the two plastic tabs on the headset top. Hope that helps. Mij☺

Thanks Mij,the photos are a great help - from looking at the photos it would seem I’ve the incorrect switch. The one I have is the white 4 pole version shown in the top photos and it doesn’t catch on the 2 plastic tabs on the headset top, looks like I have to source a different / correct 8 pole switch😬 This 125 is the early non-battery type ..... does that matter at all when I buy the 8 pole switch ?

Your white one is correct for you, was just using the black one in the photo as an example off the way the flat side of the switch should sit ,in relation to the tabs on the headset top. Sorry for adding to your confusion. Mij☺

Thanks Mij, however no matter what way I place the white switch into the headset top, it still doesn’t catch onto the two plastic shoulders to stop it spinning inside the headset. I’m flummoxed 😶

Thanks Mij, From what I can see in both attachments the switch seems to butt up against the 2 lugs in the headset top which therefore prevent it spinning.
My switch doesn’t even touch the lugs !! It’s significantly smaller than the ones in the links you sent - same colour, shape etc etc just smaller !
I’m wondering if there’s a possibility that I’ve bought a switch that’s for another model and therefore won’t work in the 125 😏 The investigations shall continue!! Thanks for all your help so far

I’m flummoxed 😶 M8, im on my third headset for my p200, 2 of them genuine, had same problem as you, cut a strip of plastic and super glue to the lugs on the underside of headset, the lugs that are supposed to stop ignition switch turning.

Thanks Doulsy, that seems to be the only way I can get this sorted ... 15 mm gap between switch & lugs .. Thanks to yourself & Mij for the help @ advice. Greatly appreciated 👍🏼 M
