Here is my problem. Bought a 2015 engine and fired it up. Started first kick with choke....wont rev past tickover. Put choke in and it cuts out. Carb cleaning needed?

1st off ,check the pilot jets clear . 2nd check the green wire to cdi is clean/secure contact . my moneys on the pilot jet/circuit .an also check mix screw setting ,to far in an you'll get this .H

Blew out and rebuilt. Started with choke out and it revved out . Put choke back in and it cut out again. Started agin with choke out and it would tick over and rev out. It then reverted back to original problem

Bawbag, did you blow out the jets AND the jet passage ways in the carb body with compressed air ?

bawbag, did you check the green wire and mixing screw as Henri mentioned?
Do you have ?or could you borrow another carb? to try, to totally eliminate it being a problem with your carb.

Well they both did cause it turned out to be a lot more serious all seals gone hard bearing s shaggad e.t.c just cost me £500 I'm gutted so both carbs are going cheap

Soulboy73, who charged £500 for the work?
Is their no scooter clubs near you? as someone with experience should be able to do the work competently and a lot cheaper, Too late now, though maybe of use for any future work 😉. Or buy an old fecked case/engine T5 or PX and have a go yourself it's a piece of p*sh (,if you can use hand tools😉,) after you've done about 3 rebuilds, honest 😉.
