Currently working with gear cables, shift into first everything seems fine, slowly letting clutch out, all is good, roll forward a couple of feet and then stop/brake and the engine starts to slow down and eventually cut out unless throttle is opened. I’m thinking clutch cable isn’t tight enough and clutch isn’t disengaging properly?

If the clutch cable is too slack the scoot usually wants to jump forward when you engage first gear and, and like you said clutch drags and engine struggles, it is often then difficult to then select neutral. Easy enough to check by making cable tighter but make sure you still have some free play at the lever.

I have adjusted the clutch, no stalling or drag. Rides fine until the clutch is pulled in and come to a stop either in neutral or in first. I have only rode a few feet, I'm confused on what's happening? The engine will slowly die unless it's revved?

Could be a nakered cruciform I guess. Try turning your idle up a bit. Might help, I had that same problem a year ago, just can't remember how I fixed it..... 😐

Mij, clutch is working fine and the gears are working as they should. Went for a test run and all is fine, only problem is once the clutch lever is pulled in all the way it’s making a noise? Only just started to happen, all I’ve done is change the cable.

Jellerby, need a better clue than that, 😉, I'll take a wild guess tho, do you think the noise could be the flywheel rubbing on the flywheel cover? Have a look at the flywheel to see if it's moving outward as you pull the clutch in, with the engine running.

I have took a video of it, you can just hear pick it up on it but I can’t post it on here as 5e files too big.. I’ll check that out though, I don’t think it’s not that though, it sounds like the bearing maybe on its way out? But it was fine before and it hasn’t moved or been started the last couple of weeks...

Flywheel cover off and it’s still making sort of a rattle noise? All I can think of is the clutch nut has come loose or bearing? I can’t firgure out how if he hasn’t moved in weeks and it’s only started after the cable was changed?

I think it must be Henri, I’ve never really noticed it before tbh.
