Is there a way to remove the headset and column without disconnecting the cables? I'd rather not touch the front disc brake if possible.
PX125E model.

Not entirely, what do you need to do, the bearings?

Replacing indicator switch, end of the switch where it connects is stuck in the neck of it all. Only way to get it out is removing the headset entirely. I can remove the gear cables and clutch but wouldn't want to touch the disc brake if possible.

Headset off, the indicator connected end doesn’t fit through the gearshift, I’ve had three switches that don’t fit through. What’s up with that?

It looks like the gear shifter needs to be removed to allow it to pass through. There's a small lip which the connecter can't fit through

Is it normal for gear shifter not to move with the headset top off? Gear shifter won't budge, tried rolling it back and forth with no luck.

Not entirely sure which part you mean, but if you remove the clip from the gear shift bar from the underside of the headset, the grip and tube should slide out of the headset

Indicator switch is in, need to try it out see if it works. Turns out the part where the mirror threads on to was catching the gear shifter. How hard should the mirrors be to remove? I had to use a lot of force to take them out, seems somebody didn’t put them in correctly and the top of thread is stripped. Is it Norma, for groove to be cut out in the tubes for the mirror to sit? Looked like someone had a dremel or file to it.

the adapters the mirrors fit onto wont unscrew past the gear or throttle tube ,but people try n force them past probably why ya threads damaged .an the old skool bodge is whilst tubes are out to file or dremel a slot ,so in future mirror adapters can be removed an replaced with tubes in situ . H

vespadave75, what's your scoot?
Here's a video 👇
Or are you just trying to unclip a PX EFL/disc speedo from the headset top?, Have you disconnected the speedo wiring?

Vespadave75,
Have a look here bud, this is how I've done it in the past, don't know if there is a better way, first one is a mark 1 speedo, but I've opened the mark 1 and later EFL/disc the same way, the hard part I find, is putting the bezel back on without it leaking in water or misting up on damp rainy days when fitted.
Or here video in Italian but easy to understand what you see .....
Dismantling 👇
And reassembly 👇
Hope it helps .
