Hi Last week i found the that while riding the the clutch seamed to engage. Then yesterday at lights the gears started to not engage so i got it home ( long way to push) and there was some knocking from the rear hub while pushing it. I checked all the cables etc and the rear hub nut would not tighten (or so i thought) but it is actually tight but is spinning the axle. Sorry for my limited knowledge i have been very lucky in the years of riding that i have only had to fix the most basic of issues. Any help advise would be greatly appreciated guys Thanks in advance Shane

Found the issue the split pin had broken and worked its way out so it looks as though its worn away the fins on the hub as its just spinning in the hub when i put it into gear. Next question is how do i get the nut off when its spinning in the hub?

Shanesmith, not sure if I'm understanding but I'll give it a go... try putting it in first gear, then when you have the socket fitted to the nut, give your ratchet (hope you have a good one😉 or it may break)or bar, a sharp hard hit, in the hope you break the nuts grip enough to undo it by hand. Once you get the nut off, you may find the splines on the layshaft ( the shaft the hubs bolted to) are damaged too, in that case it's an engine split to replace the layshaft. Good luck. Mij☺ P.s no need to be sorry for having a limited mechanical knowledge, I know plenty of scooterists that don't know one end of a spanner from another and just pay for repairs like the would getting their car repaired 😉. At least your giving it a go.👍.
