Hello everyone, I just discovered this blog and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm 60 years old, live near Boston Massachusetts and have only recently jumped into Scootering. I've been riding motorbikes regularly since my mid-forties and I've owned a BMW K1200RS and a Ducati Monster S4R for more than a decade.
A little over a year ago I decided to buy a couple of Vespa's for our vacation house on the island of Martha's Vineyard, a little south of Cape Cod, our main house is about 30 minutes north of Boston. Initially, I bought a leftover 2015 Sprint 50 and a 2009 S150 with only 280 miles on the clock and always garaged. I was surprised by two things, my wife didn't flip-out, as she historically didn't want our daughters riding anything with two wheels and an engine. Second, that they were so much fun to drive.
As for my daughters, the youngest is now 22 and a college graduate so they've all reached their majority so my wife seems less paranoid. One of my key goals was to introduce the joys of motorbiking to my 3 daughters. It seems to have worked and my wife will occasionally jump on the back with me. The maximum speed limit on Martha's Vineyard is 45mph.
Not letting good enough alone and being slightly OCD, I bought a 3rd Vespa about mid-Summer 2016, a 2015 Sprint 150 with 250 miles on it and finely a 2015 GTS 300 Super with about 325 miles on it a couple of weeks ago. I think I've now reached the maximum my wife wife allow.
I look forward to enjoying this blog, cheers.

Hi and welcome. i was in Swampscott last summer on vacation and on a trip into Marblehead spotted a really mint Vespa GS which was two tone green. Dont know if this is close to you or not, but it really was a spectacular scooter. Perhaps you should have a run up to Marblehead to investigate?

The Boston area has a bewildering number of small towns surrounding it any many are named after British towns or cities. The town I live in (Boxford) has 3 acre zoning but is only ~30 minutes (with no traffic) from Boston. It's a great area , except for the snow in winter, during the winter of 2015/2016 we had over 3 meters of snow, it was horrible.
