a mate asked me today if he needs a rebore as his scooter has done 25,000 , i always rebored mine at 20,000 and went up a piston size , what are your guys thoughts , i know you can measure the bore or ring gap etc but wondered what you think

ive seen well cared for engines go 30,000 miles on original rings/seals/bearings , easiest way to check is pop the head off an feel the wear ridge at top of bore .or do a compression test , anything under 100psi is worn ,under 75-80 psi def needs attention . H

^ likewise, personally I avoid as re-bore until you absolutely have to do it, would pop fresh rings in it first to restore a bit of life, but only if it feels like it needs it, down on power, hard to start, compression feels low etc.

If running fine..have a check but dont feel the need too change anything..could just be a fine strong lump LOON-E
