I'm after some advice please : I'm seriously considering kitting my PX with a166 Malossi but have read mixed opinions on such and other kits. I've heard that I can run one without many major changes other than maybe upjetting and a better exhaust than standard. Also what would be the best exhaust to add-on.
Also what changes can I expect in performance etc and are they ok for long runs at higher revs etc. I want a kit that does a bit of everything, more acceleration and not too bothered about top end really. I think my minds made up on the Malossi but would like to know from anyone who owns such as the best way to treat it when fitted so as to get the best out of it (performance wise and reliability...etc )
Do you need to add oil to the fuel as a supplement.
I've heard and read so much that I can't make my mind up what to believe as people have had different experiences.
Can anyone lend to good honest advice before I take the plunge.

Thanks Joey. I have read all the past threads and took the advice to buy the kit from the info posted, It was more feedback from owners of such that I was looking for and from your comments I can assume you have good experience of the Malossi............

hello, this is just my opinion: if you want to put a kit and go I would advice you to go with the polini. The malossi for sure has better transfers and you can make more power from it, but will find its power way up in the rev. With standard cranckshaft and carb the malossi is globally less satisfying then the polini. As far as the exhaust: for a standard PX: leave it original with a polini 177 I like the taffspeed with a malossi RZ If you are a rev crazy nothing rev higher then a Zirri, but it is terrible for normal traffic. Low down there is nothing. never add oil in the tank. Only if you have to replace the oil gears. If you add oil in the tank you will make the mixture leaner. I know that many make a confusion between leaner - reacher andf they make an analogy with having more or less oil. Leaner means less, but less gasoline no less oil. Rich means too much gasoline. If you add oil in the tank your engine will receive more oil but less gas since the mixture becomes thiker and this will make pass less gasoline from the differents jets. hope I am clear. www.curareracing.com

Thankyou Curare for you help, I've taken your thoughts on board. I wasn't sure what exhaust to put on but I'll take your advice.
