Hi All,
I want to keep of record of what I am doing so in the absence of a build thread section, I'm putting it in here. Hope nobody minds.
Anyway, day 1 - its here in all its faded glory. Ok so the handlebars aren't pointing in the same direction as the front wheel at the moment but it's all cool.
I will upload some photos when I can sort my laptop out.

I meant to chip in sooner; saw this and then got sidetracked, but seeing the question again on another thread just reminded me, so.... Trick is NOT to try to load them into the forum; use a hosting site instead. (you've done that bit now) Most chaps use Photbucket; load them up there, and put the link in your text (you haven't done that bit) – that’s a simplification, there’s a quick guide here: vespa.proboards.com/thread/4282/quick-guide-posting-photos-photobucketI use FLIKR instead now – more control of size of image posted, and much more storage space; 1Tb I think, but you have to create a Yahoo account for FLIKR these days, and linking film is more complicated, so I use Youtube for that. - It's easy when you know how; even Henri cracked it!

Finally able to start work on it today. Took the engine out, took the seats off and a few bits of trim. Turns out the rear suspension wasnt even connected and all the wiring had been bodged but it doesn't matter. I will be replacing it all anyway. The body work has rust on it but it doesn't look too bad. I will get it all soda blasted and then look. The side panels are pretty beat up so I am going to have some work to straighten all that out or do you think its too far gone? Here are some pics: Feel free to comment :-) Rod

jesus, photobuckets spitting its dummy out the pram, again , wont believe i dont want to upgrade somebody elses bucket . from what i saw before the meltdown looks a fairly typical indian vbb resto .had a couple of them myself ,its got the standard rotted out rear plate area .floor looks ok-ish ,check were the stand lies across it ,as high mileage/use scoots get rubbed thin here an can crack . an expect to find most components to be worn/re-used/bodged to work ,ive seen the amazing back-street mechanics out there .can build you a whole scoot from tin cans with a hammer n screwdriver ,an weld with no mask just shutting there eyes . It is Italian built and then used in asianstan but, yes, the bodges were there. Lots of them around cables, plus a bodged piece of metal around the down pipe to help hold the exhaust in, and odd rags stuffed in places. Glad I wore gloves :-)

Looks like a decent project that, good find to still have the old rear rack/buddy seat base and original blue paint, body doesn't look so bad, will look much better once blasted, floor looks sound, that's the main thing. If the panels are too bad you can replace with repro, but they look savable to me, just needs a bit of hammer work ;-)

Finally managed to spend some more time on Sunday. Managed to get the handlebars off and the fuel tank out. Still more needed to come off before I can start addressing bodywork and getting it all soda blasted. Rod
