For what reason? - are you haveing fuel problems? what kit and carb you useing?
Fuel pumps need to be plumbed properly and you need a header tank for them to work correctly. You usually pump the fuel to a header tank which then supplies the carb you can't pump it direct to the carb otherwise it will overflow and flood the carb.

I'm running a Malossi 166 kit,28mm phbh carb,it runs sweet just that I come across one and wondered if my scooter would benefit from fitting one?

as me says ,but theres also other ways instead of a header tank . phbh carbs have different size needle jets ,so long as its a low pressure pump ,1-3psi,a smaller needle valve can be used to prevent flooding/pressure overwhelming the valve . or a return loop/line fitted ,2 t pieces set up so inlet line an output to carb have a loop around the pump to bleed off any over-pressure . but unless your planning some long motorway WOT thrashes ,an running on reserve a lot your set up should be ok without a pump so long as your careful on pipe length an routeing .no loops/kinks to slow flow an try an keep tank topped up should keep fuel flow high enough to avoid problems .H
