Ive just sold my Lammy, and got another PX... a 125 this time, one of the last but not the rip off ltd. edition one! Id like to kit it, using the original carb, but ditching the CAT.. what is the best kit for reliability and performance please?

Malossi 166. Pulls like a train when properly sorted, and will leave P2s in it's wake.

Sorry to be ignorant, but is this the sort of kit I'm going to need to fit to my PX to take the A2 test?

I agree with the choice of Malossi 166 kit, you can just bolt it on and off you go. I put one on myself it wasn't too difficult but the jets they supply are far too big (another whole topic) Top tip be careful doing the cylinder nuts up, too loose and you'll suck in air and it'll nip up, too tight and you can easily strip the studs. I used the Simmonini exhaust cheap and made an improvement
Cheers

I'm looking at getting a kit soonish and getting rid of the standard pipe and cat on my PX125.
I want the best all round performance I can get really. The main requirements being more oomph up-hill (especially when 2 up) and better top end speed. Am not sure if they cancel each other out though!
A few people have recommended the Sito Plus for the pipe and having read some other posts, it seems to be well rated on the whole here too. So will probably go with that I think.
I'm not sure on the kit side, thought I'd go the Malossi route (pulls like a train sounds impressive!). But my local scoot shop recommended the Olympia 180.
Is there much between them? Any major pros and cons?
Won't be doing the work myself, would be well out of my depth! So if I'm forking out I may as well get it done properly eh.

Ride a bike with a simple bolt on malossi 166 and then try one thats had the transfer ports and inlet port machined. You want torque and extra ooomph, then this is the route to follow. IMHO of course
