I was gonna buy a big bag of K-nuts for my wheels to save fannying about with longer studs or wondering if mine were long enough (Had decided on Nylock prior to this coming up, but still haven't fitted my new split tubeless rims, so maybe having a rethink). Paulwaite linked to Demon Tweaks 'high quality carbon steel - aerospace', here: www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/nuts-bolts-washers/demon-tweeks-metric-aerospace-locknut-k-nut (about £1 each) I found, and also a few on Facebook have since linked to these 'Premium quality, original K-Nuts' here: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281867039397(about 20p each – Go Kart) I downloaded the K-Nut brochure from K_NUTS.com (Belgium), where they are stated as '35CrMo4 – aerospace'
So it's a simple enough question; What material, and do I need to pay 5x for Aerospace, or will Go Kart K-Nuts meet the needs of my old Vespa?

considering its 5 nuts that keep a wheel on an ya bum from "tarmac testing" i'd stick with demon tweaks ,ive used em in the past an there a good shop. any "premium quality" from ebay at that price i'd guess could only have 1 source ,china. an ive not had many good experiences with chinese steel in the past . sime66, I faced the same dilemma about the Go Kart nuts and like Henri, for £10.00 I'd rather be protected by the nuts that hold the F10 together.

I agree with you both Paul, though I don't necessarily agree that they must be rubbish 'cos they're cheap. The other supplier I linked to is a kart specialist, and has 100%; they aren't rubbish, just not the same spec for Karts and jets. - Does a scooter need kart, racing car, or aero spec wheel nuts? That was the question really, and without an answer, I agree it is probably best to be safe. Anyway, I contacted K-Nut in Belgium for prices, and a very helpful bunch they are too. K-Nuts are single use (deform to lock) as we know, so you need to carry spares to change a wheel, and maybe a bag of 25 for £38 from Belgium is the way to go – 25 would be £50 with Demon Tweaks. Here's K-Nut's quote to me last week: Here you can find the offer for the requested items. wow ,if my brains working thats a chrome-moly####? high tensile steel with a cadmium plating an a moly-sulphur anti rust coating on top . thats better than aero thats space-spec . ya got to remember kart spec 1's are seen as disposable ,an only meant for 1 race ,max of 15-20 miles .tho i have seen people put em on tarmac an wallop with a hammer to deform them so will lock on re-use as a "emergency" measure .
