After 4 weeks and several attempts Ive finally finished spraying my side panels ;D
I nearly gave up a few times but they are now very acceptable and very shiny!
I was determined to get the hang of it as I've got loads of things i need to paint. A big learning curve but well worth it.

What were you using, home compressor and cellulose?
Got to do my VBA soon, going to be using a mates booth and some nasty 2 pack I think..

I used base coat and 1 pack lacquer with a very small home compressor. Compressor was a pain as it was always playing catch up, but it stops you spraying too much paint.
preperation is everything and i found that the paint needs to be thin. Also use a seperate gun for the lacquer. A polising machine is handy too.
Costs a bit buying all the stuff but once you get the hang of it (i'm not saying we are ever going to be as good as the pros) you can spray loads of things. Takes a lot of the cost out of a re-build

I thought I'd jump on this thread rather than starting a new one.
I'm looking into the possibility of reprayign my Vespa. Wondering rough ideas of how much it will cost.
I can do all of the grunt work just need a proffesional to do the skilled part!
Anyone had any experience of this before? Its currently in a pretty tatty condition, it would be nice to have it in top nick!

I've got mine to the primer stage myself, going to entrust the final coat of primer and sand down to a professional, it's costing me £450 - £500 for that, in cellulose.
