Too give slightly more info., i have a 65 super and i want to change the sprung panel clamp thing to a chrome one and looking at it today i cant see how it is secured. I changed the choke lever and petrol lever with the tank out but cant seem to find the "other side" of the clamp thing, is this a tricky little job?? cheers Dave

remove the petrol tank and you may see a black plastic tray if so prize it up and out and you will then see the other end of the panel clip There is a nut holding it in which you will need an 8mm spanner to undo it.The nut presses against a spring to give the clip the pull tension.Remove the nut the spring and pull the clip outwards.Replace with the new clip setting the pull tension by how tight you do the nut up.

The tray might not be there, with it being an old scooter a lot of people leave the tray out because the plastic goes hard and it's a bit awkward to get back into position.

Done it, someone had sprayed the tary the same colour as the body, but eased it out and then changed the panel clip although not quite sure where plastic and rubber grommett type things go, i will work it out though, thanks again |Dave
