That got your attention!
I'm going tubeless, chaps, and after any tips and tricks so as not to arse it up; here's my questions:
1) I've got a small tub of mounting paste, and split tubeless rims, so I think fitting the tyres will be OK, but is there a knack to fitting the valve in the rim? Some grease or paste or glue?
2) I'm going to use Goop, so I have to remove the valve or squirt the Goop in the tyre before assembly; are those cheap valve tools on Ebay with a handful of spare valves a good idea, or a waste of money? Are there different lengths of valve insert?
3) Is it a good idea to use some grease or similar on the sealing 'O' ring for the split tubes, or might that damage the rubber, and maybe it's better to assemble dry?
4) My 'O' rings are round cross-section, Ø2.5 in a 3.5mm groove, so I was thinking some of this might do as spare gasket (with a blob of sealant to join?), rather than trying to find the correct ring diameter; it comes in two materials (viton and nitrile) , though, so I need to check what partenen's ref NBR70 is – this sort of thing in Ø3mm:
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NITRILE-RUBBER-O-RING-CORD-3MM-Diameter-70-Shore-in-any-lengths-/281287811353?var=&hash=item417e0f6119:m:mX3OBMl0qQDQ1zYU7GC4VKQ
viton (much more expensive - probably don't need it anyway):

I'm going to put my new spare on the front for a while, so it's a scrubbed-in spare when I need it – I've gone for ContiMove365. I've got the F.A. Italia split tubeless rims; hope they're OK, they seem well-made and sturdy anyway, and I think their rims are normally pretty good.
- I'll post on the split rim thread when I've got my act together - they came from Italy with parts missing...........
Any advice or things to avoid appreciated; I'm still going to wear the old ones down while I'm running-in, at least until the weather changes anyway.
