Hi, I have just taken ownership of a 2 year old LX 125. Been riding 2 strokes for years, so am just learning about how to look after a 4 stroke. Am already having problems starting the engine! Sounds like it wants to start but just won't fire up. The owner couldn't find the manual, so I'm having to rely on guesswork and common sense. Can anybody out there guide me as to what I need to check? Do you need to turn the throttle a few times before starting it or is it best to just fire it up straight away? It ran fine yesterday when I picked it up, so not sure what's happened overnight!

nice bike the LX , i own a piaggio fly that has the same 125 leader engine fitted . when starting engine cold or hot you need to hold throttle open about 1/4 turn until it fires up

Thanks for the tip. Popped into my local dealer and got similar advice and a demo of how to use the kick start it if needed - all very helpful. I'll give it a go once it stops b*#$dy raining! Have also sorted out a replacement manual, so am getting there slowly but surely. Can't wait to get out and about.
