Hi all In the last 12 months ive had a problem with my 2005 GT 125 that occurs every 3-5 months. Odd i know! Its so odd that even my Vespa garage are perplexed. In short... Start vespa, idles fine, take off, after about a minute it idles rough and feels as if its going stall. I turn the throttle, it revs and then before it even takes off it sort of splutters and doesnt move. I turn the throttle again, it revs and then splutters and doesn't move and sounds like its going to stall. It has happened 3-4 times this year. Each time I have had the jets and carb cleaned just to make sure but it reoccurs every few months. I recently had it fully serviced and had the diaphragm replaced. The recovery people that have come to save me have all stated it seems like its over fuelling which doesn't make sense as its not a daily or weekly issue. Every time this has occured it has been towed to the garage but by the time it gets there it works! So tonight i left it sitting there for an hour and then started it and it worked. Granted it semi spluttered and slightly struggled during my ride home but half way home it was back to normal and working fine. My conclusion is that its definitely a fuel issue, as leaving it to settle for an hour sorts the issue but why is it a monthly fault as opposed to a daily or weekly fault? Could it be that im turning the throttle too much when i start it and therefore flooding the engine? Any ideas?

not sure about the 125's but guys have had problems with gts300's from blocked air filters or by changing the airbox for a free-er flowing filter .it messes with the throttle/engine management system an causes the choke to come on at weird moments . might be a similar thing on yours . a good service n filter/oil change might be all it needs . I know nothing about the gts but it does sound like your idle circuit is getting blocked. See above
Next time it does it, stop and take out the idle jet and inspect very very closely for debris, use a magnifying glass!
