Hello
My sprint has the rubber trim around the legshields that was fitted by the previous owner. Would really like to replace this with nice chrome trim, have heard it can be a bit of a nightmare to fit. Has anyone else done this job recently?? is it really tricky to do. ?

I'm a complete novice and have just added legshield trim to my PX.
It was a bit fiddly but nothing major lol the hammer worked wonders....

Try Len Tuner for the chrome legshield trim, its a simple push fit, with a little brute force thrown in for good measureand is held in plac with small cross head screws . The standard metallic factory trim needs a special rolling tool to be done properly. Check there is a metal lip still present underneath your rubber trim.

Thanks mate - tell me, does the chrome trim finish right down by where the floor runners begin - or is there a gap on the legshield.

Hi mate
I fitted one of these to my 152L2 and the best way i found was to lift the headset slightly to give you a little more clearance and this may sound stupid but i soaked it in boling water. Yes i know what your thinking its metal it wont work but it did it went on relatively easy. If you use a hammer you will damage it . I started at the top and got someone to hold it then i went straight to the bottom and put that on then worked my way back up. I used a litle bit of washing up liquid to lubricate the edge of the bodywork to stop the chrome scratching it and just eased it on .
Cheers Dave

chrome trim arrived today - nervously removed the old rubber stuff and made a start fitting trim - bloody sharp edges on this stuff !! some scary moments as paint seemed to chip away, but most of it got covered up once grub screws took up some of the gaps. pretty happy with it, although some paint has come away right at the top of the trim which i felt like crying about - also turning the handlebars full lock either way produces rubbing against the trim which is not great either. All in all not a bad job i suppose - will need to touch up the paintwork though
