Can anyone help with my petrol leak on my px?? I have changed gaskets and even tried new carb but still it's leaking petrol, can't work out if it's coming out of air mixture screw hole or under carb box, if not both. Ive tightened up all screws so it not that either. Please help!!

Did you also replace the gasket under the carb box If youve bought a new carb we can assume that s ok Maybe its the carb box Lap everything New gaskets Apply a very thin smear of grease on the gaskets Torque everything correctly If that doesnt solve it its likely coming from elsewhere... Start from the carb top.

Thanks for reply, yes I used a new gasket under the box. What do you mean by lap everything ? Torque is all correct, I was thinking of maybe using two gaskets under box to see if that helps. I will go and put a smear of grease on the gasket!!

By lapping i mean sanding/grinding the flat gasket surfaces at the bottom of the carb and the bottom of the carb box....to ensure they are perfectly flat. If over torqued these can warp causing similar symptoms
To 'lap' a carb youd need a clean piece of glass to use as a flat surface to work on And also either some wet paste, around 320 grit or finer seems to be ok. Or some fine grinding paste
I use a marker pen to 'colour in' the gasket face of the carb In a figure of 8 motion i would then sand/grind down the bottom of the carb andnhave a look for any high/low spots/signs of warping. Keep going until its perfectly flat It doesnt actually take too long
Do the same to the bottom of the air box
Clean it all up
Thinly smear the whole gasket with a little grease
Torque down a little at a time, alternating between the two bolts/nutsnuts, until you reach 16 - 20 Nm

Guessing you have changed all the carb gaskets. One of the girls in our club had an issue like this on a run once, it was the gasket for the float chamber that was gone, took us a bit to discover, and took a couple of gasket chanes to resolve. Petrol was coming out the back of the carb.
