Hello to you all,
First may apologies for jumping in and asking a question with out telling the whole story.
I'm Dave, and many years ago my wife was into the scootering scene, fast forward 20 years and she now has another> OR be it in bits.
We have purchased, according to the documents that came back from the DVLA, a Vespa ( Douglas ) F Reg first registered in 1989 125PX .
Heres were it gets confusing for me anyway LOL.
The bike was in bits, well the engine was out, not in bits, few things missing.
No real problems, at first, or so i thought, the bike has not run for approx 6 years, but came with loads of new parts, bearings, cables, new wiring loom, and loads of other bits.
Frame is really good. Started to totally break the engine down, managed to get all of the D bolts out of the casing, apart from the long one, so cant split the engine, ARGGG !
This pin is seized, ally to steel = electrolysis , bad news i know.
Do you think i can get this dam bolt out !!!!!!!!
Any advice would be so much appreciated as to how to get it out, personally i think I'm going to have to bore/ drill it out, with care.
To come back to my original question > Oil mixer/ auto lube, the shaft has worn away, but not damaged the drive cog.
Said this was long winded, I'm totally new to Vespas, although i have good knowledge of twist and go,s.
I'm mechanically minded, I'm a Heat Engineer by trade, so I'm used to total strip downs, but not on vespas, if you understand.
I have been studying the web site Scooter help.com night after night, and there is a section on there were you can check the make, model etc, with the frame number/ engine number. ect.
HA , i put the information on the log book in the search engine, and this is what it came back as !
FRAME VSE1M .............. 1989 Vespa PX200E Arcobaleno Motor
Engine No ........................1977 VespaPX 200E Motor..
Yet the log book says its a PX125<<<< Confused, so am i ??
Any help, now and in the future will really be appreciated.
Thanks for reading this.
Regards
Dave.
