What's your verdict on cut down vespas?should you leave them original or would you go for a cut down?

I reckon this depends on the model? There are gazillions of PX s around, so all good I reckon, but some of the older bikes are extremely rare now, and you might upset a fair few Vespa enthusiasts if you were to chop up a GS for example!!!!

I've got a standard 1984 PX but I've dropped on a 86 PX cutdown that looks proper mental,thinking of buying it as a toy to just rip round on,just wondering what the thoughts are on cutdowns

I assumed most cut downs were to get rid of serial numbers or rust. But if you want a cutdown id suggest you buy one rather than chop a perfectly good one down. If you like cutdowns thats cool. You dont need an ok from anyone else

Only reason to cut down any scooter is tin worm or to hide damage as far as I see it .the whole frame is your chasie remove a piece you compromise yourself and others they should All banned from the road

done right they can be nice an still safe ,problem is not many are done right ,too many are cut after a beer or 2 an end up lopsided or cut to the bone ,i wouldnt cut a good frame ,but theres hundreds of rotten/bent ones out there if youve got the itch to create a custom, H

Just brought this cutdown,it's mental,going give it a proper going over tomorrow,got loads of spares with it in the deal so all good I think,just a PX125 tuned up,side panels,legshields and tail cut down a touch.goes proper nice,166 kit on,ported to suit,pinasco pipe,new clutch,he's put on a different carb and reed valve assembly gotta check that out see what he's done but runs proper sweet and loads of power reckon easy pull 70mph plus
