was stripping a "mallossi 166" lump today , an funny thing its actually a polini head n piston , an barrels got no marks , the 2 side transfers are bridged an the rear 3rd one is split into 3 lands ,makin it a "7" port barrel, will go thru sip's porn later n try an pin it down a bit , it did have a mallossi inlet n dell pbhb 24mm carb on , maybe thats why guy thought it was a malosy , but anyways got inside it an cranks been split /cut/different polished conrod put in an re-balanced (all this an no matching of cases to barrel, ???DOH???) , but also the crank web that runs under sealing pad has had a 1mm deep x1mm wide v shaped groove machined down its middle , an i cant for the life of me suss out why anybody would do that , it wouldnt help if it was a planned reed valve conversion ,sealin pads not been removed , its not a full circle crank , anybody heard of this before as i'm " colour me in confused" , H

Is that a DR kit H? With the 3 x ports at the rear?
As for cutting a groove into the crank web??? Weird!?
Is someone thinking they can get more fuel in there even when the crank is/should be closed!!?? I dont know! Very strange

could be ,hadnt thought about dr's , an yes the rear ports split into 3 ,sips porn pics dont show any detail inside the barrel , but cut-outs in skirt of barrel, L shaped , do match the polini kit photo's , will have to strip the rings an see if piston cut outs match the ports , as in my experience polini stuff has the name cast into it an this 1 has none , god knows what they where thinking with the groove , the lump ran n pulled ok-ish , even with a shot clutch side seal/bearing , but only rode it short testing ,elf n safety distance , as the fast reaction throttle body put on stopped the front brake lever working , that n the broke throttle cable 1 handed riding/hand throttle games made it "interesting" . there was no sign of spit-back thru the filter less carb with the groove . stranger n stranger , its what ya get i guess when ya buy 1 3/4 scoots for sub £500 , i'll never learn . The link you pasted into your post was the webpage for your library where your photos are, it wasn't a link for the photo. . To paste an individual photo from photobucket, you click the photo, and wait for it to load. . The link you need to use is not the webpage for that photo, it is one of the links on the right hand side of that page. . For our forum the best one to use is the bottom of the four, called "IMG"; you just click the link until it goes yellow and changes to "copied", you have then copied it to your clipboard. . Once you've done that you go back into our forum, left click where you want to paste the link, and right click and click paste; the link will paste into your post. C'mon Eneri; finish the job! BTW:I've looked a couple of times about the grooved web, and can't find anything similar. I put you photo of the barrel alongside, my DR for comparison, in case you get wound up with the photos and want to go back to that:

def not a dr then , i'm going to assume its a polini an move on ,think i'm goin to have a spacer made an sling this lump into my daily hack for summer ,run it along side my spanish 1 , have a choice of "traffic hooligan" or "sedate/prettyness" , definetly going to match the cases tho , it would be a sin not too , H

thanks sime , an honestly i'm usually "right" despite being "left" handed , i was wrong once , i thought i was wrong but it turned out i was right , what do you know , thats close that barrel, good scoot/tuner porn by the way , lurvely, but rear transfers on this barrel are different ,more like the dr type , 1 port split into 3 by lands/bridges ,if ya see what i mean , an that barrels marked "PM" as in pm tuning , polini usually mark there stuff as there rightly proud of it , well as proud as a "pasta/mother loving surrender monkey" can be , sorry my inner ukip voter slipped his chains/restraints then , back in a securely locked box now, reckon maybe its a earlier version of your dr kit without the boosts up by exhaust port , memorys sayin there was a dr like that , but memorys a trickster , goin to give up wonderin ,it works so names not that crucial , H

I know you’re not bothered about this now, but I’m pondering it over my coffee; You don’t think ‘PM’ here, is Polini Motori? Those images I posted above are from the SccoterCentre page for this cylinder – with ‘PM’ on the barrel, (link above). Anyway, we’ve all got things we should be getting on with, and the sun’s out too………..

guess so , i'm only familiar with smallframe polini barrels really ,an they have polini's whole name cast in , an thinking more on it pm tuning just sells n modifys others kits ,dont think they actually manufacture.i do want to move on an get out in the sun ,it being my "burpday" , but have the sort of brain that little stuff like this niggles away at .an the sort of luck that not knowing will come back n bite me in the ass someday down the line . Happy Burpday H. I celebrated mine last night. Kinda wished i hadnt right now!! Its difficult when you live next door to a micro brewery that sells worldwide beers. So many to try. Last night as NZ beer. Three Boys Pils.. Nice

nappy crapday back to ya ,1 day late ,sorry , i was a bit over enthusiastic myself last night , just waiting for eyes to uncross an then i can ride home n do it all over again with the management , oh joy is unfettered , not, an my poison of choice last night was "guiness west indies porter" at 6% a cheeky little number , tho reckon the large sherry before beddy-byes is the culprit for this mornings "sickness" , it was all dad had in the house after the beer was gone . ouch, H
