You will get quite a few different opinion types on this one I use a sterling pipe on my Dr 180 kit but if you want normal looking a sip 2 would be just as good

What other mods/upgrades have you done to the engine? What carb do you use?

there right to a point , if runnin a sip road (my personal reccomadation) its fine ,but if going further a 24/24 with cosa top on , but thats just a stop gap til a different manifold an the world of keihin/mikuni an there copys opens up , for pipes the sterlings a gud un,more money gets ya a bgm with lifetimes guarantee, but if youve the money an want to run with the best a pipe by mathius is a must ,mathius&sherer ,pipes like jonas, big bertha an my personal favourite an my missus's xmas wish ,she likes the name,go figure, "the HAMMERZOMBIE" , £300 plus as a buy in , but he's the leader in pipes at the moment ,tho i do like old-skool norrie kerrs , dont like JL's , theres my hape-nennys worth , H

I'm running a SIP road 2 at the moment on a DR 177 setup and it runs real sweet ,,, I personally have tried Scorpion,Simmonini, Sito + and many others but by far the SIP 2 is the best for an all round sportyish exhaust. Love the sound and the smoothness of the exhaust.

better fuel delivery , better shut off on overun , its the piaggio developement on the 24/24 , but as my flippant answer earlier might of told ya , the 20/20 is the better carb for ya state of tune , a 24/24 might get 3-5 mph if set right but at the cost of -10mpg , ask rab he's done the "maths" , an with all tunes theres no single answer/trick, as vespaco asks whats the spec of engine , kit/carb/porting/clutch-primarys/gears an what do you want from it , tourer/rally scoot , full balls to the wall racer or just (my personal fave) local high street traffic hooligan , theres different pipes for each use , H

no porting has been done no change has been made to the gears it has a simonini exhaust on it i want to keep the dr180 kit and maybe get that tweaked by pro porting i just want a quick scooter cheap fast reliable i know you cant have it all so i will stick with fast and reliable my idea is a decent exhaust a bigger carb once it is run in and a bit of porting work to the kit

fast n reliable , sorry they dont go in same sentence ,stick with the 20/20 n simoni pipe an hold on the porting , they will do the work n then say "but unless ya get yadda-yadda " it wont show , a dr 180 with a simmoni an 20/20 set up right is goin to give ya pretty much the optimun , from there portings got to have a more radical pipe n step up in carb ,upgear, fast flow tap/reed valve , the list/cost is endless , if ya got 1-2 bags of sand (grand) going wanting ive a bridge i want to sell, an location location location is everything ,an this bridge is over a river named after it ,brookylyn , its just what you need? . but seriously where ya goin costs , as the mechanic in mad max1 says "speeds just a matter of money, how fast ya want to go" , well its the sign on his shop but ya get the drift , have ya won the lottery or is this just a usual "need for speed" , H

the "only in my memory" stik is mad max 2-3 , the 1st is a classic an up there with the best, 2-3 just cash ins ,an as ya say best forgotten , sorry for my double flippant answer , in my defence i was as p*shed as a newt , but in sober thought a bgm pipe n 24/24 carb an just setting/matching the kit right will probably give you what your after ,with not too much loss in the mpg stakes , porting will make the scoot more lairy but less fun to ride in town ,an increase ya service intervals, not to mention eating into ya reliability , just setting the port timings without altering the ports themselves would in my opinion give you what ya want , an are ya sure on the bridge ,i'll let it go cheap to a fellow forum guy , H

nah, dont think so, its a mathius n sherer pipe an mathius is a smallie nut , tho with the right incentive he builds one off pipes ,but as his stock hammerzombies bout 300 ,god knows what a one off costs , that n he'll inflate it as "lardys" aint his cup off snaps ,but it is quality scooter-porn aint it , the "big berthas" sweet aswell , gets my welders juices flowin ,prob too much info there ,i'll get me coat , H

DR180? I'd not bother spending any money on it at all, I'd look for a better top end first, then work from there. If you're going to stuck with it though, a SIP Road/BGM would be the way to go as they're not a very revvy kit.

Uuummmm , just came over in a "hot flush" an my welding trigger fingers twitching like a mirror at tickover , that ticks so many boxes ,slight variations in heat signature/discolouring an some bulging/high build up ,but as my teacher use to say "it'l do, jus do better nxt time" , an youve got to love googles translation ,apparently its good to 40bhp but not qualified as a street sweeper , good job as those rotary brushes have got to sap the power a bit ,thats why the sweepers only do 15mph i guess , i'm goin for a lie down in a darkened room , H
