Hi all
I am in need of some advice for a new exhaust for my PX 125. It has currently got a standard exhaust but I want a bit more ooomph and ideally be able to change the exhaust myself. Any suggestions are greatly recieved. I've read that the Sito Plus is good for the money and easy to fit but I also like the look of a shiny one under the left side where my spare wheel should be.
Extra power is my top priority!
Thanks, James

Hi James sorry if I may shatter your dreams of power but changing the exhaust will not add much on a standard barrel. Nothing you can actually notice apart from the noise and the look of it. If you want more ooomph you need more cc and a good cylinder :-)

The sito plus gives more bottom and mid range power but not much more top end , it works well with a olympia 180 kit which just bolts on no porting needed and more bang for your bucks

thanks for that. I asked about these at Eddie Bullets and they said I would need to "upjet" to 100 or I would ruin the engine. Does anyone have any experience of doing this, is it a DIY job and how do I know which jet to get? Thanks

with a Sito an up-jet would be a good idea, just ask for a 100 jet, no great mystery there. My bone of contention with 'up-jetting' is that you put more petrol through the engine and therefore, on auto feed engines, weaken the mixture. I have had discussions about premixing but been shouted down . I guess it's up to the rider. Why not just slap on an olympic and have done with it? (108 jet), certainly increases the output and a Sito works well with one. As for changing the jet, piece of p*sh and takes two minutes, see the manual.

Thanks, I've just looked at an Olympia for £120. Is it as easy as you said "just slap on.." ? I am a learner so is it increasing the cc and will I still be able to legally ride it?

changing the piston and barrel is easy if you have done it before , if your not 100% sure wot to do leave alone ???or find someone to do it for you and show you how you might want to leave it at 125cc if your on L plates ! fitting the sito plus exhaust and a bigger main jet would be a fine start ( and legal ) if you need help we could talk you through it so to speak ;D
