Hello, my name is Thomas and I am an Industrial Design student at Loughborough University.
I am currently working on a project to create a desirable product for Vespa riders that allows hot food to be carried and eaten whilst out and about on your scooter.
Your help and opinion is very much appreciated if you could answer the questions below.
How often do you ride your scooter? Where do you journey from/to? Do often do you partake in massed rides? Have you ever been on a picnic with your scooter? If not would you? Have you traveled across continents on your scooter? If not would you?
Thank you

Hi Thomas, I'm sorry I cannot answer any of your qustions realistically at the moment as I just got my Vespa and it's stripped in bits....so have not had a chance to start using it.........but.........Well done for what you are designing and looking forward to see the outcome. I hope you get all the info you need and the very best of luck mate.

hi thomas ,in answer to ya questions ,everday, everywhere,no the idiots always go to slow n get in way, dont picnic stop at pubs,an for continentals i take the bike i'm not that crazy, good wishes with ya project ,but am afraid youve been beat to the goal, since 50's theres been scoots with racks n wicker picnic baskets an thermos flasks , myself i prefer to wrap food in tin foil n tuck on top of exhaust , bit of a art form guessing the timings but fun,an for cold stuff a hessian bag dipped in stream water n hung from scoot keeps beer cool in summer , a bit "al fresco" ,whoever he is , 1 prob you'll come up against is vesp's run on 12volt ac , not the easyiest system to get heat/power from as most is needed to keep scoot going , best of luck , henri , national/higher nat mech/prod engineering diploma, electrical engineering dip , coded welder etc etc ,an thoroughly all-round nice-guy .

A) once a week if I'm lucky. B) shopping and long rides. C) rarely, im an unsociable git...once or twice a year only. D) occasionally yes... But normally would ride to/stop at a cafe or similar E) yes and I'd love to do it again.
The hot cup of tea/cold drink or fresh espresso maker would be pretty useful...use the engine to build up pressure for the preculating process and steaming/frothing the milk!!?? If you're using battery power,as Henri says, there ain't many amps to be had out of a small 12v vespa battery...at the most maybe 9Ah, on an electric start model
