Hi Folks,
Anyone got an old small frame that has a flywheel without the internal thread to attach a puller tool? If so, how should go about removing the flywheel from the cam? Seems the only option is a gear puller of some kind but I'm unsure which type to get. Any tips much appreciated.

I believe that some flywheels have a a circlip in a groove inside the opening for the flywheel nut. The idea is that youundo the nut which hits up against the circlip and forces the flywheel off. It is apparently important to fit the circlip with its sharp edge outermost.

as above ,you can try with a car 3/4 leg puller but risk damaging the edges of flywheel, yours should be a flanged nut an circlip ,as coaster says make sure 90 degree edge of circlip faces out if its a "thrust" type ,clean groove out with a pick/bit of wire ,stick clip in and bring nut up to put pressure on ,if its on stiff a sharp tap on shaft end with a hammer whilst pulling/supporting flywheel will help to shock it off the taper, H
