I have a 1967 Vespa Super and when I press my back break the main back light goes out. Need for my mot as it failed on this. Any ideas

its a push to break switch on the older models , means ya leccy runs up through switch, when brake pushed it breaks the circuit sending leccy on a detour to brake light an then up to headset to run lights .so your fault sounds like its in wires/circuit to rear brake light or from there back .i'd start there looking for bad connections,blown bulb,broken wires , or just the wires to switch by pedal ,or switch itself . does the rear brake actually light up ,or just kill the rear light. you need to get a electrical meter an "meter" the circuit looking for breaks. H

Rear brake lights up and kills the rear light. Had a look at bulbs and they are 12v 5 and 10w. do you think using 6v 5 and 10w would help
