Hi All, Are they repairable ? I've replaced it with a new one but just wondered if it was worth having a go at trying to bodge it back together to keep as a spare. If not it'll make a lovely ornament for r lasses dresser !
Cheers.

there a sealed unit you may be able to do a bad bodge but i wouldn't bother as it may work for 5 mins or 5 months either way you will be at constant risk of it failing. for the price they are new and the amount of effort involved

to melt the resin there set in you'd prob do more damage ,an if ya chipped it away it would look really frankenscooterish if ya cud fix an glue back . days of work to save few pence ,even i'm not that dedicated (read tight, coz i really am),Henri just looked at pics better, if thats just the earth wire broken off an cdi still works ,ya can seal with a blob of glue an still use ,the cdi earths to stator by the white wire an the yellow earth wire is a extra , they will work fine without an its a "good spare" .

If it's a spare CDI to keep in the tool box as a get you home spare or for 'testing' purposes you can get a cheap Indian one off ebay for less than £10. I bought one recently for £4.99 (make me an offer) with free postage. It arrived in less than a week and works fine, no different to the Ducati one already fitted.
As mentioned above the CDI's are encapsulated in a 'potting' resin which is poured over the circuit board and components. The stuff would have to be chipped off and the process would destroy the components inside.
